Insomnia

Insomnia causes tiredness, reduced short term memory, lack of coordination, aching, tired muscles and other uncomfortable and frustrating symptoms. Lying there in the middle of the night, wide awake, staring at the ceiling, not knowing what to do to just sleep for a few hours... I've been there, believe me.

Insomnia is mainly caused by the brain's inability to 'switch off' due to stress, anxiety and general life concerns. Some people awaken after just a few minutes sleep, some feel refreshed temporarily, others become upset and depressed. Insomnia can cause people to become withdrawn, which can lead to problems in their career, relationships and general health.

Do you suffer from anxiety also?

Underlying anxiety is generally the main catalyst for insomnia, whether that is caused by stress, bereavement or other life circumstances, the insomnia and the anxiety are CAUSED by the same subconscious mechanism in the brain; a mechanism that can easily be corrected with the right tools.

Anxiety has been responsible for a large portion of the insomnia cases I have dealt with, in fact the vast majority of my clients over the last seven years have suffered with insomnia throughout or at least at some time.
