Does an anxiety 'test' exist and how is a diagnosis of anxiety reached?
There exist no medical anxiety tests, such as blood tests or scans, which can identify anxiety as the cause of symptoms.
Most medical practitioners will know, very quickly, what category of anxiety and at what level it is at in the sufferer.
Anxiety diagnosis is fairly strait foreword and extremely accurate. It is very rare for anxiety be diagnosed when, in fact, another condition is at the route of the symptoms.
We have seen many cases where sufferers have been told that they have depression and have been prescribed medication when anxiety disorder should have clearly been the correct diagnosis.
So how do you know that you have anxiety?
If you experience panic attacks, a general sense of unrest and agitation, a racing heart, digestive issues, inappropriate thoughts, phobias, obsessions or compulsions, you have an anxiety disorder.
Low mood can also be a feature of an anxiety disorder but this is NOT clinical depression as you cannot suffer from true, clinical depression and anxiety at the same time.
The only way to truly understand what you are experiencing is to talk to other people who have suffered.

You have to understand two things:
1. No medication can select the exact neurology that causes your disorder and remove only those pathways responsible for your disorder.
2. No therapy can reach the part of your mind responsible for creating your anxiety disorder.
Your mind keeps your autonomic responses locked away. This is why you can't control your heart, digestion or hormone levels consciously.
The mind only allows you to control conscious actions... and rightly so otherwise we could influence bodily functions that could cause damage or harm.
But this doesn't mean that you cannot erase an anxiety disorder. Recovery happens very quickly when you learn how to modify the brain functions that cause them... as we have shown many tens of thousands of times.
